This is my first full digital painting that I had done last summer. However I basically redid most of it or improved it so I can put it in my portfolio. However I'm posting it hoping I can get suggestions here for improvement. So please critique!

Wow, I have no idea how you did that, but it looks amazing. It reminds me of an Australian illustrator called Marc McBride (he uses similar techniques).
the only quibble i have is that the fish-man doesn't seem to fit into the environment, because he is only purple and the environment is only green. how you can solve this: put some of the green onto his body as reflected colour, and some purple on the throne where his body's colours will reflect on the chair, then he will seem like he is actually in the scene!

Aye good point. I'll check that out. I still need the fish guy to really stick out though in order to offset the bright orange lanterns on the right half. Or I eliminate the rightmost lantern altogether.
